Do I need an appraisal for a divorce in Kentucky?
When real estate is marital property, the parties or the court usually need a credible value to divide it. An independent appraisal gives both sides one supportable number and can be updated if the case runs long. The appraiser is not an advocate for either party.
Answer by Scott D. Kelley, Kentucky Certified General Appraiser #4265. General information, not legal advice or an appraisal of any property.
