Is an appraisal the same as a home inspection?
No. An appraisal estimates market value. A home inspection is a detailed check of the home's condition and systems for the buyer. An appraiser notes visible condition issues but does not inspect like a home inspector does.
Answer by Scott D. Kelley, Kentucky Certified General Appraiser #4265. General information, not legal advice or an appraisal of any property.
