What does the appraiser look at during the inspection?
The appraiser measures the exterior to calculate gross living area, photographs each room and the exterior, and notes condition, quality, updates, mechanical systems, outbuildings and site features. Lenders may require photos of specific items such as damage or accessory dwellings. Having a list of recent improvements ready helps.
